About Jos Jansen
Jos Jansen started his study at the school of music when he was 21. In 1989 he graduated as a teacher of music (MM) at Zwolle and in 1991 as a performing musician (MM) at Hilversum. Already during his studies he became a bass trombone player with the Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy, he left the service in the middle of 2014.
The premiere of Typical JJ with the Royal Wind Orchestra Pieter Aafjes conducted by Heinz Friesen was the starting point of Jos Jansen’s solo career. Peter Kleine Schaars wrote this work in which classical music and light music feature, especially for Jos. Since then Jos performs as a soloist with both amateur and professional orchestras at home and abroad. He has also released several CD’s that portray him as a soloist.
Jos Jansen performs exclusively on Willson Trombones.
I have been playing with lefreQue for over a year now and can only say how fantastic this works. I did not expect it to provide such good results beforehand. We will soon be giving great concerts. Keep following me on social media so that we can all enjoy making music...
Proud of my new CD Singing Bass Trombone For years, I’ve been walking around with the idea to make a CD with beautiful songs, preferably accompanied by people close to me. Dear friends and close family, such as my brother Frank, whom I’ve shared many musical hours...
Jos Jansen as a Soloist
Bass trombonist Jos Jansen is a many-sided phenomenon on the bass trombone. He feels at home in every genre. From classical music to jazz, from a tender berceuse to Egerländer festive music. On his bass trombone he plays sweet-voiced sounds as easily as a splendid fanfare. Serious at times and the next instant jesting and joking.
As a performer through and through, Jos Jansen likes to add an extra touch to your concert. Varying from a bass trombonist playing classical music to a comedian who engages his instrument in a virtuoso way for theatrical amusement. A full programme is presented according to the organization’s wishes after consultation.
Clinics, workshops & masterclasses
Playing music gives Jos Jansen a very happy feeling. Not only does he put his heart into it, he is thrilled when he is able to convey emotion to his audience with music. That’s why Jos likes to share his musicality with others.
Jos Jansen regularly organizes clinics, workshops and master classes for advanced trombonists in cooperation with Willson. With these, further attention is given to the function of the trombone in wind bands, the specific repertoire of the trombone, breathing, embouchure, technique, sound, modern techniques etc..
